Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management accounting and reporting functions within Methods, adhering to organizational timelines.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts and annual budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational deadlines.
  • Analyze and report on significant variances in forecasts and budgets, recommending necessary corrective actions.
  • Evaluate the month-end financial status, investigate discrepancies, and implement adjustments as needed in accordance with internal protocols.
  • Generate monthly financial reports that summarize performance to date and elucidate key variances.
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support year-end audits by providing transaction sampling and evidence on Revenue, WIP, Accruals, etc.
  • Engage regularly with budget holders to review financial performance and offer management information, analysis, and guidance.
  • Ensure budget holders and managers are aware of financial performance requirements, including budgetary control, and provide financial awareness training as necessary.
  • Assist in the preparation of regular and ad hoc financial statements, variance analyses, and monthly forecasts for management review.
  • Compile detailed information to enhance reporting from the general ledger.
  • Collaborate with Methods companies to develop business cases and proposals for new ventures as needed.
  • Work alongside the Sales lead to integrate financial data into forecasts.
  • Support other Finance and Resources Team members with various projects, including consolidating financial and activity information.
  • Utilize financial systems such as Salesforce, Certinia, Vena Forecast and Planning Tool, and MS Excel.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in a relevant field, with part qualification in ACCA/CIMA/ACA or actively pursuing certification.
  • Adept at navigating ambiguity.
  • Experience in a commercial financial setting.
  • Background in a professional services environment.
  • Proficient in producing and analyzing management accounts and forecasts.
  • Strong business partnering skills with effective senior and director-level stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in financial management within complex environments.
  • Capability to synthesize financial data to inform business decisions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proven track record in implementing and managing change to achieve results.
  • Strong leadership skills to engage and guide teams towards achieving objectives.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Quick to adapt to new financial systems, models, and processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.

Security Clearance:

This role requires candidates to obtain or be willing to undergo Security Clearance. As part of the onboarding process, candidates will need to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details of the required evidence can be found on the government website.
