Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the management accounting and reporting processes, ensuring alignment with organizational deadlines.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts and annual budgets, adhering to set timelines.
- Analyze and report on significant variances in forecasts and budgets, recommending necessary corrective actions.
- Evaluate month-end financial positions, investigating discrepancies and making adjustments as needed.
- Generate monthly financial reports that summarize performance and explain key variances.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support year-end audits through transaction sampling and evidence provision on revenue, work in progress, and accruals.
- Engage regularly with budget holders to assess financial performance and provide insightful financial management information.
- Ensure budget holders are aware of financial performance requirements and offer training in budgetary control as necessary.
- Assist in preparing regular and ad hoc financial statements, variance analyses, and monthly forecasts for management review.
- Gather detailed information to enhance reporting from the general ledger.
- Collaborate with Methods companies to develop business cases and bids for new opportunities.
- Work alongside the Sales lead to integrate financial data into forecasts.
- Support Finance and Resources Team members with ad-hoc projects, combining financial and activity information.
- Utilize financial systems including Salesforce, Certinia, Vena Forecast and Planning Tool, and MS Excel.
Essential Skills and Experience
- A degree in a relevant field, with part qualification in ACCA/CIMA/ACA or actively pursuing qualification.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity effectively.
- Experience in a commercial financial environment.
- Background in a professional services business.
- Proficient in producing and analyzing management accounts and forecasts.
- Strong business partnering skills with senior and director-level stakeholders.
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Experience in financial management within complex environments.
- Skilled in assimilating financial data to inform business decisions.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Capability to implement and manage change, achieving results in dynamic settings.
- Strong leadership skills to engage and guide teams towards objective delivery.
- Proficient in cross-functional collaboration.
- Quick to learn new financial systems, models, and processes.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
Security Clearance
This role requires the candidate to obtain or be willing to undergo Security Clearance. Details regarding the Baseline Personnel Security Standard will be provided during the onboarding process.
