Facilities Administration Apprentice

West Hanningfield, United Kingdom Northumbrian Water Full time

Position Overview

We are thrilled to offer a unique opportunity to join our Facilities team as a Facilities Administration Apprentice. In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of our office spaces, grounds, and parking facilities. Your responsibilities will encompass building services, office management, maintenance, and investment, all aimed at providing our staff with an exceptional workplace experience in a secure environment.

The Facilities team oversees our primary offices and historic properties, and this position will allow you to gain valuable insights into delivering facilities services support to various departments through the Facilities Services Operative level 2 apprenticeship.

This apprenticeship will equip you with the skills necessary to effectively communicate with colleagues across the organization while providing an unparalleled customer experience. A primary focus of this apprenticeship is to impart the knowledge and expertise required to deliver outstanding service to our internal customers.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you will enhance your skills in areas such as invoice processing, procurement of goods and services, assisting our reception team, coordinating courier services, and much more.

Candidate Profile

While the Facilities Services Operative level 2 apprenticeship will facilitate your development, we seek to build upon your existing abilities, particularly in communication and initiative. We are looking for an individual who can efficiently respond to various help desk inquiries and maintain our internal customer records and corporate systems accurately.

Strong communication skills are essential, as you will need to engage with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure a positive workplace experience for all staff members. Reception duties will be part of this role, so excellent customer service skills and confidence in greeting colleagues and visitors in a dynamic environment are crucial.

This opportunity includes attending college one day per week, with the remainder of your time spent learning in our offices. We will provide support during your on-site training, and you will be encouraged to leverage your eagerness to learn to expand your knowledge base. Flexibility, proactivity, and the ability to work independently while adapting to changing priorities are essential traits for success in this role. Proficiency in data management using Excel spreadsheets is also required.

Our Facilities team operates with a collaborative spirit, which is one of our core values, and we expect you to contribute positively to the team dynamic.

A valid manual driving license is necessary for this position to enable you to operate our pool vehicles.
