**Team Educate is proud to represent a unique and pioneering Special School in the Shirley area who are seeking to appoint a School Facilities Administrator to support the existing management team in enabling the smooth, safe running of the school facilities for the academic programmes and student activities on site.**

Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the successful Facilities and Health and Safety Administrator will undertake the required administrative work to support the general operation of the school, ensuring that it meets health and safety standards and legal requirements, as well as being involved in the co-ordination of school activities - such as the cataloguing, organisation and despatch and the school's equipment, as well as their physical and digital resources.

For this role, it is important that you support the objectives of the school which promote inclusivity, well-being and team-work. The ability to uphold the School's ethos of dignity and respect for all at all times.

This role will involve:

- Ensuring that the School is a clean, safe, secure and pleasant environment for school users.
- Performing daily checks such as; taking regular walks around the premises to ensure they are safe for us; performing regular checks on areas of danger highlighted in the school risk assessment, such as the pond, are not accessible to pupils; performing end-of-day checks on windows, doors, gates and ensuring that electrical equipment is turned off as appropriate.
- Providing facility management tasks such as Legionella testing (training provided), and fire and intruder alarm checks.
- Monitoring the status of the school's CCTV and alarm systems, and ensuring any necessary repairs are carried out by external providers.
- Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance to the buildings and grounds, and working with external contractors where necessary.
- Carrying our porterage duties (ie movement of equipment around school) within health and safety guidelines
- Carrying out gritting in times of inclement weather
- Setting up new laptops and tablets, ensuring IT inventory is kept up to date.
- Managing and maintaining IT equipment, telephone systems, printers, and internal software systems with support from the School's external providers.
- Keyholder responsibilities - being entrusted to lock and unlock site, as necessary.

**The successful School Facilities Administrator will need**:

- An understanding of Health and Safety Frameworks, and experience of working with Risk Assessments. You must have a good understanding of health and safety, as well as its implications for the School and its pupils.
- Ideally, experience in a familiar role or a willingness to quickly gain and understanding of the pupils who attend the school, how a School operates and how to provide a safe environment and education for those pupils through the provision of safe facilities, good and working IT systems and effective resources.
- The ability to perform 'handy-person' duties - including minor repairs and site maintenance.
- A friendly, personable demeanour and a willingness to work as part of a team. People skills are a real must in this role.
- A self-motivated, and the ability to manage your own daily work schedule.
- Good organisation skills and the ability to keep and maintain good records, ensuring that adequate recording is accessible and up to date.
- Some understanding of the school/charity sector, and an ability to work with young people.
- Ability to work under own initiative, to anticipate issues and help to resolve them.
