Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Family Peer Network Coordinator within Nottinghamshire County Council. This position is integral to our ongoing efforts to enhance adopter participation and integrate lived experiences into our service development.

Role Responsibilities: As a newly created position, the Family Peer Network Coordinator will focus on establishing and nurturing an adopter peer mentoring initiative known as 'Peers4Peers'. This program aims to recruit, train, and support experienced adopter peer mentor volunteers who will assist adopters at various stages of their adoption journey. Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating 1:1 support, small group sessions, and drop-in events.
  • Disseminating adopter experiences throughout our training offerings.

Collaboration and Influence: The coordinator will also play a crucial role in engaging peer mentors in service development through co-production initiatives, ensuring that the voices of adopters are effectively represented across the region.

Candidate Profile: We are looking for an individual who is an experienced adoptive parent, with a strong commitment to peer mentoring. The ideal candidate will be comfortable sharing their own adoption journey and possess excellent communication, listening, and relational skills.
