Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as a Youth Development Specialist. This is a fixed-term position for 12 months, working within a newly established project to develop and create an effective multi-disciplinary team as part of our support offer to adoptive children and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including education, health, and social care workers, to support young people in a trauma-informed way and with a youth work approach.
  • Develop and implement strength-based programs to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people adopted and their families.
  • Contribute to the development of the youth offer within our organization and participate in the wider role of our strategic MDT group.
  • Work closely with the Nottinghamshire Youth Service to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to youth support.
  • Travel throughout the regional area to deliver services and support to families.

Requirements

  • Commitment to working with adoptive families and a passion for adoption issues.
  • Desirable to have working knowledge of trauma-informed practices or youth work approaches.
  • Ability to work creatively and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
