About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Strategic HR Director to join our HR & OD team at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. As an Associate Director of Human Resources - Business Partnering and Advice, you will play a key role in leading the delivery of a professional HR business partner and employee relations service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the HR Business Partner & Advice team in partnering with the trust to deliver excellent people management practices.
  • Clearly understand the strategic priorities of the Trust as defined in the 'Above and Beyond' strategy and help translate these into effective people management practices for the HR Business Partner & Advice team.
  • As a member of the HR&OD Senior Team, lead delivery of the GOSH People Strategy - taking responsibility of key projects and programmes of work.
  • Lead on the establishment of a new strategic HR policy framework including the design, development and successful implementation of new/revised policies which promotes competent, compassionate, and inclusive people management practice aligned to the organisation's changing context and new ways of working.
  • Provide expert insight into Directorate and Trustwide strategic and operational challenges, ensuring alignment between local service needs and core HR service delivery.
  • Undertake highly complex programme and project work, to support service transformation.
  • Provide expert, high-level advice and guidance to senior managers and HR colleagues on complex employment matters, ensuring that relevant statutory, consultation and HR policies are adhered to.
  • Be a visible and credible leader; adopting a coaching and facilitative style to ensure high levels of knowledge transfer, and increasing confidence and competent management of people-issues across the Trust.
