Job Overview:

This position involves providing essential support to a senior individual with specific health needs. The role encompasses assistance with meal preparation and personal care, ensuring a high standard of hygiene and safety.

Role Purpose:

The primary aim is to aid with meal preparation, taking into account severe food allergies, and to assist with personal care as needed. Flexibility is required for supported activity hours, which involve accompanying the individual to various locations in a mobility vehicle.

Location: Buxton

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with meal preparation, ensuring strict adherence to dietary requirements.
  • Support with personal care tasks, to be discussed during the interview.
  • Provide companionship and assistance during leisure activities, including visits to gardens and shopping trips.
  • Help with light gardening tasks as requested.
  • Drive the mobility vehicle when necessary, ensuring safe transportation for activities.

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Flexibility to adapt to the employer's needs and schedules.
  • Interest in gardening and outdoor activities.
  • Experience in domestic tasks and personal care is preferred.
  • A valid driving license and the ability to drive a mobility vehicle.
  • Must be over 25 years old and physically fit to assist with mobility needs.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Hourly rate: £15
  • Weekly hours: 13, with flexible scheduling.
  • Includes supported activity hours.
  • Occasional cover for other assistants may be required.
  • Annual leave equivalent to 5.6 weeks.

Additional Requirements:

  • Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check.
  • Satisfactory references from previous employers.
  • Completion of a 6-month probationary period.
