Assistant Manager for Children's Care Services

Salary: £35,000 & Joining Bonus £3,000
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Location: Wirral, Merseyside

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the care team during shifts and oversee the staff members.
  • Manage the daily operations of the facility in the absence of the Registered Manager.
  • Adapt to evolving demands and embrace new tasks and responsibilities.
  • Oversee work assignments and promote effective teamwork.
  • Assist the Registered Manager in ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Establish trusting relationships with children, providing daily care in a nurturing environment that fosters their growth and development.
  • Lead the development of individualized care plans and actively engage with each child to meet their changing needs.
  • Gain knowledge in the legal aspects of residential care, empowering children to understand their rights and participate in decisions affecting them.
  • Collaborate with professionals to create a therapeutic atmosphere that enhances children's emotional well-being and social connections.
  • Encourage community involvement by helping children build social networks and maintain family connections.
  • Conduct risk assessments for activities and provide transportation for children to various outings and educational opportunities.
  • Maintain precise, objective, and strengths-based records regarding children's progress and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Ideal Candidate:
  • Possesses a Level 3 qualification in Children's Residential Care (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar setting.
  • Demonstrates experience in supervising staff.
  • Proficient in various Microsoft software applications.
  • Holds a full, clean driving license.
  • A seasoned Senior or Deputy Manager seeking to advance their career.
