Assistant Manager for Children's Care

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the care team during shifts and oversee the staff members.
  • Manage the daily operations of the home in the absence of the Registered Manager.
  • Adapt to changing demands and willingly accept new tasks and responsibilities.
  • Oversee work assignments and ensure effective teamwork.
  • Assist the Registered Manager in maintaining compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Quickly build trusting relationships with children, providing practical daily care in a nurturing environment that fosters their growth and development.
  • Lead the development of care plans and actively engage with each child to ensure their evolving needs are met.
  • Gain knowledge in the legal aspects of residential care, empowering children to understand their rights and participate in decisions affecting them.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to create a therapeutic environment that enhances children's emotional regulation and social connections.
  • Encourage community participation by helping children build social networks and maintain connections with family and friends.
  • Conduct risk assessments for activities and accompany children to various outings and educational opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate, objective, and strength-based records related to children, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Candidate Profile:
  • Possession of a Level 3 qualification in Children's Residential Care (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar setting.

  • Full, clean driving license.
  • A seasoned Senior or Deputy Manager seeking to advance their career.
