We are seeking a Senior or Lead Software Engineer to become an integral part of our expanding team. Ideal candidates will possess a foundational understanding or experience in genomics or related bioinformatics data types. This role is crucial for advancing genetic research projects and developing innovative solutions that enhance our service offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employ programming languages such as R and/or Python, along with Perl, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, or Scala.
  • Engage with cloud computing platforms, primarily GCP and AWS.
  • Design and manage data ingestion systems to acquire and process publicly accessible genomic and molecular datasets.
  • Establish robust data processing pipelines and workflows for large-scale genomic data management.
  • Create and oversee databases and/or data warehouses for biological data access and storage, ensuring efficient data handling for data science applications.
  • Utilize orchestration tools (e.g., Nextflow, Snakemake) and high-performance computing frameworks (e.g., SLURM, AWS Batch).
  • Develop optimized SQL queries for effective data manipulation and analysis.
  • Construct and maintain user interfaces, dashboards, and web front-ends for intuitive data exploration and workflow execution.
  • Develop Microservices and APIs.
  • Supervise existing data pipelines and contribute to the design of new workflows utilizing both on-premises and cloud-based high-performance computing resources.
