This is an exceptional opportunity for a Senior or Lead Software Engineer to become a vital part of our expanding team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience or familiarity with genomics or related bioinformatics data types. This position will play a crucial role in advancing genetic research projects and delivering innovative solutions that enhance our service offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize programming languages such as R and/or Python, along with Perl, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, or Scala.
- Engage with cloud services, primarily GCP and AWS.
- Develop and manage data ingestion modules to acquire and handle publicly accessible genomic and molecular datasets.
- Establish robust data processing pipelines and workflows for managing extensive genomic data.
- Create, populate, and oversee databases and/or data warehouses for efficient access and storage of biological information, ensuring optimal I/O capabilities for data science applications.
- Employ orchestration tools (e.g., Nextflow, Snakemake) and high-performance computing frameworks (e.g., SLURM, AWS Batch).
- Write optimized SQL queries for effective data manipulation and analysis.
- Design and maintain user interfaces, dashboards, and web front-ends to facilitate user-friendly data exploration and execution of data science workflows.
- Develop Microservices and APIs.
- Monitor existing pipelines and lead/support the design of new pipelines and workflows utilizing on-premises or cloud-based high-performance computing infrastructures.
