Role Overview:

We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our MAINTROL team within the Engineering division. Our engineers play a vital role in supporting the entire BA Mainline fleet as well as the BA Euroflyer fleet. Successful candidates will be integrated into our Integrated Operations Centre (IOC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate teams involved in aircraft recovery, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Manage the recovery of AOG (Aircraft on Ground) aircraft globally, ensuring safe and efficient return to service while prioritizing team welfare.
  • Enhance aircraft and engineering performance through proactive monitoring and prognostic tools.
  • Analyze safety reports and address repetitive defects.
  • Provide specialized technical support on-site, adhering to safety, technical, regulatory, and commercial standards.
  • Source and supply necessary approved data for the safe maintenance, repair, or modification of aircraft engines and components.
  • Follow established technical procedures to achieve performance targets for aircraft, engines, and components, while continuously improving technical performance and engineering processes.
  • Support business development initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Facilitate optimal technical decision-making across teams and lead discussions using expertise while considering business implications.
  • Coordinate activities at line stations to minimize technical delays and AOG recovery.
  • Drive improvements in aircraft performance through proactive monitoring, defect analysis, and safety reviews.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong project management and prioritization abilities.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels in high-pressure environments.
  • Proficient in report writing and business planning.
  • Analytical problem-solving and technical decision-making skills.
  • Self-motivated with a capacity to manage change.
  • High level of business awareness.
  • Experience in operational teams and supplier management.
  • In-depth knowledge of fleet/products gained through hands-on experience.
  • Specific expertise in aircraft mechanical and avionics systems, structures, and materials.

Experience Required:

  • Ability to hold CAA/EASA approvals or BA company approvals.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering.
  • Recognized Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience.
  • B1/B2 Licence without Type rating.
  • Capability to hold and exercise EASA Part 145 Technical Engineer/Part 21 CCE or CVE approvals as necessary for the role.
