Position Overview: Operational Engineer - SAP
The Operational Engineer - SAP will collaborate closely with the Lead Operational Engineer within the UK Power Networks Services framework. This role is a permanent position.
The compensation package includes a competitive salary along with additional allowances and bonuses.
Pre-employment Requirements: Candidates will be required to undergo a medical examination and a background check.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engineering functions as part of the project team, focusing on new construction, asset replacement, and standby fault response for both UK Power Networks Services and client-owned assets.
- Act as a deputy for the Lead Operational Engineer, attending client and contractor meetings as necessary.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and other team members to ensure the safe and efficient execution of assigned tasks, minimizing disruptions to client services.
- Maintain safety management throughout all engineering activities, adhering to the Stay Safe initiative.
Principal Duties:
- Oversee the construction schedules for assets operating at voltages from 400V to 132kV.
- Work with the Lead Operational Engineer and Project Managers to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
- Lead planning and execution of works, representing UK Power Networks Services during client interactions across various sites.
- Supervise Technicians, Fitters, and Apprentices to ensure successful engineering task completion.
- Assist in budget management related to construction and asset replacement projects.
- Contribute to achieving company goals, particularly in client and staff satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and operational procedures.
- Manage contractor and staff activities on-site, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Minimum qualifications as a Senior Authorised Person for 11kV, with potential for 33kV authorisation.
- Experience with distribution systems ranging from 400V to 33kV.
- Security clearance for access to client infrastructure.
- Medical and drug screening.
- HNC level qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
Desirable:
- Broad understanding of UK Power Networks Services operations.
- Relevant safety qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
