Role Overview:
The Maintrol Technical Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the entire BA Mainline fleet as well as the BA Euroflyer fleet. This position is based in our Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) at our headquarters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate working parties for aircraft recovery, ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel involved.
- Manage the recovery of AOG (Aircraft on Ground) aircraft globally, ensuring a safe and efficient return to service while prioritizing team welfare.
- Enhance aircraft and engineering performance through proactive monitoring and analysis.
- Analyze safety reports and address repetitive defects effectively.
- Provide on-site technical support while adhering to safety, regulatory, and commercial standards.
- Source and supply necessary approved data for safe maintenance and repair of aircraft components.
- Follow established technical procedures to achieve performance targets and drive continuous improvement.
- Support business development initiatives aligned with our strategic goals.
- Facilitate optimal technical decision-making and lead discussions across departments.
- Coordinate activities at line stations to minimize technical delays and AOG recovery times.
- Conduct reliability and safety reviews to improve aircraft performance.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong project management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively communicate in high-pressure situations.
- Proficient in report writing and business planning.
- Customer-focused with excellent communication abilities.
- Strong analytical and technical decision-making skills.
- Self-motivated with a capacity to manage change.
- High level of business awareness and experience in operational teams.
- Experience in supplier management.
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft systems and components.
- Familiarity with mechanical and avionics systems, structures, and materials.
Experience Requirements:
- Ability to hold relevant approvals as required.
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering.
- Recognized Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
- B1/B2 Licence without Type rating.
- Capability to hold and exercise necessary technical approvals.
