About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Palliative Care Nurse to join our team at The Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth. As a Staff Nurse in our Hospice, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with life-limiting illnesses.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing care to patients in our Hospice, maintaining the highest standards of practice and adhering to evidence-based guidelines.
  • Act as a role model and expert clinical practitioner, supervising and teaching both trained staff and student nurses.
  • Assist the Ward Manager in leadership and management of the Hospice in-patient unit, contributing to the day-to-day running of the service.
  • Coordinate services provided by the inpatient unit, ensuring seamless care delivery and patient satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Experience at Band 5 or above in specialist palliative care or oncology.
  • Demonstrable practice that is evidence-based and up to date.
  • Experience of identifying and dealing with risks encountered within own practice.
  • Ability to use assertive communication skills and conduct audits in an objective and efficient manner.
