Position: Employee Relations Consultant

Location: Hybrid working model with office attendance required on a limited basis.

Employment Type: Full-time, 5 days a week

Contract Duration: Fixed term for 12 months

Compensation: Salary of £45,486 depending on experience

Our client, a public sector entity, is seeking a qualified candidate with a CIPD level 5 certification or equivalent experience to fulfill an operational and advisory role in Employee Relations within a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a dedicated principal who is committed to enhancing a positive employee relations atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate across the People Directorate to establish credibility and deliver exceptional service to all personnel.
  • Utilize Employee Relations Management Information to inform training and development for leaders and managers.
  • Oversee the effective provision of Employee Relations advice and case management support, ensuring a consistent approach throughout the organization.
  • Leverage data from the Case Management tracking system to assess and enhance the effectiveness of the People Plan and related initiatives.
  • Continuously review and improve Employee Relations frameworks, processes, and service level agreements in alignment with the People & Culture Strategy.
  • Ensure the accurate maintenance and management of HR records in accordance with current guidelines.

Essential and Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in a fast-paced HR environment with a significant volume of Employee Relations casework.
  • In-depth knowledge of disciplinary procedures, performance management, grievance handling, workplace dignity, absence management, appeals, and flexible working arrangements.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching managers and executives, providing accurate and best practice Employee Relations guidance.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively, prioritize tasks, and make informed decisions, knowing when to seek additional advice for complex cases.
  • Capable of working independently while recognizing when to escalate issues.
  • Proficient in simplifying complex Employee Relations evidence for better understanding.
  • Able to cultivate and maintain credible relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including managers, employees, and external service providers.
  • Experience in a unionized environment or with employee networks is advantageous.
