We are seeking an Assistant Head of Housekeeping to become a vital part of our establishment at De Vere Tortworth Court, a remarkable hotel featuring 201 rooms located in South Gloucestershire.

The position offers a competitive salary of £26,500 annually, along with exceptional benefits such as complimentary access to our gym and swimming pool, £50 staff rates for stays at our De Vere Hotels, and 31 days of holiday, plus an additional paid day off for your birthday.

As the Assistant Head of Housekeeping, your responsibilities will include collaborating with the Executive Head Housekeeper to establish, oversee, and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and guest service. Your keen attention to detail will guarantee that our guests experience impeccably clean accommodations and unforgettable moments during their visit. You will also step in for the Head Housekeeper as needed, managing team supervision and controlling housekeeping expenses while aligning with business forecasts to maximize room division profitability.

You will lead by example, cultivating a warm environment where team members feel valued. By fostering genuine relationships with your colleagues, you will create a sense of belonging and empower them to take pride in their contributions.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in the hospitality sector, ideally in a comparable role within a similar-sized property, though we welcome candidates seeking to advance their careers.
  • Ability to consistently deliver high-quality service under the demands of guest expectations, always maintaining a sharp eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in IT; familiarity with Opera and Fourth Hospitality systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including health and safety regulations, COSHH, environmental health, and fire safety protocols.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to provide a consistent level of service.
  • Excellent organizational skills with effective time management, prioritizing tasks and managing work schedules to meet operational needs.
