Role Overview

As a Senior/Lead Installation Analysis Engineer within the RIAU department (Risers, Installation Analyses, and Umbilical), you will play a pivotal role in managing extensive installation analysis scopes during Project, Tender, and FEED phases.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Formulating the comprehensive installation analysis scope package, which encompasses Flexible/Umbilical/Cable Lay, Structure, and Mooring installation.
  • Providing support for the in-place analysis of static Flexible flowlines and jumpers.
  • Leading a team of analysis engineers (typically 2 to 8) to ensure the successful execution of engineering tasks, optimization, workload management, and adherence to schedules.
  • Facilitating various training and continuous improvement initiatives, including:
    • Creating internal tools, guidelines, templates, and training materials.
    • Promoting knowledge sharing within the discipline.
    • Mentoring trainees and less experienced engineers.
  • At the commencement of the Project/Tender/FEED, you will:
    • Identify the scope of work, specifications, schedule, and inter-discipline requirements.
    • Comprehend project/client expectations and compile relevant past lessons learned.
    • Determine necessary project interfaces and collaborate with department managers to establish a schedule and resource plan.
    • Organize kick-off meetings with the analysis team, installation method team, discipline managers, and project engineering manager.
    • Assist in preparing estimates for bid proposals, including technical query reviews, execution statements, and manhour estimates.
  • During the Project/Tender/FEED, your responsibilities will include:
    • Drafting discipline engineering design basis, philosophies, technical specifications, and design reports as required.
    • Conducting and reviewing OrcaFlex analyses to ensure compliance with the agreed design brief and basis, while ensuring adherence to QA/QC processes within the team.
    • Delivering relevant project interfaces and ensuring alignment with other design engineering departments, Installation Method Engineers, SPS suppliers, Clients, Engineering Managers, and Flexible/Umbilical Engineers.
    • Scheduling regular meetings with the analysis team and maintaining an action register. Issuing regular reports that include document progress, resource mobilization planning, manhour tracking, and ensuring that technical changes regarding the base scope are properly documented.
    • Participating in project review meetings, vendor meetings, and engineering meetings organized by other disciplines.
    • Organizing and leading internal and external analysis engineering reviews.
    • Engaging in customer and third-party technical audits concerning engineering deliverables and vendor documents.
Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Structural, Civil, or Hydrodynamic Engineering; a Master's degree or PhD is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in the oil and gas sector or equivalent, with a preference for EPCI contractors or consultants focused on construction and installation design.
  • Strong working knowledge of design techniques and installation analysis using OrcaFlex, along with familiarity with applicable standard codes (e.g., DNVGL-ST-N001).
  • Experience in developing and leading small engineering teams.
Desirable Knowledge Areas:
  • Naval Architecture.
  • Offshore experience.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Rigid riser design.
  • Flexible pipe and umbilical design.
