Coventry, Coventry, United Kingdom Sainsbury's Full time

Why Consider This Opportunity

Joining Sainsbury's as a Property Supply Chain Manager offers a chance to engage in a vibrant and dynamic setting where you will be pivotal in overseeing supplier interactions within our property supply chain for capital investment initiatives. As a prominent player in the UK retail sector, we present a multifaceted delivery landscape that brings forth distinct challenges and avenues for advancement. Emphasizing innovation and ongoing enhancement, we foster fresh ideas and provide the necessary resources and backing to enable you to make a significant impact. Become part of a lively team that prioritizes excellence, teamwork, and the opportunity to influence the supply chain of a leading retail entity.

Key Responsibilities

In your role as the Property Supply Chain Manager at Sainsbury's, your main duty will be to adeptly manage property supplier relationships to facilitate the effective execution of the capital investment initiatives while considering essential elements such as timing, cost, and adaptability. You will oversee relationships with warehousing, logistics, and other supply chain collaborators, evaluate supplier and contractor performance, and promote continuous enhancements in the equipment supply chain. Strong stakeholder engagement, analytical problem-solving abilities, and strategic thinking will be crucial for your success in this position. Collaborating closely with property and procurement stakeholders, you will forecast equipment needs up to three years ahead, ensuring their readiness for project implementation. Your responsibilities will also include selecting the most appropriate supply chain strategy for various work streams, assessing new specifications and suppliers, and optimizing supply chain pathways. Furthermore, you will manage the Property Supply Centre (PSC), ensuring effective inventory management, supplier order processes, adherence to lead times, and exploring opportunities for equipment refurbishment and recycling.

Ideal Candidate Profile

As the Property Supply Chain Manager, you are a seasoned professional with a demonstrated history of managing supplier relationships, particularly in a fast-paced and intricate delivery environment. Your comprehensive understanding of supply chain principles equips you to ensure the successful execution of capital investment initiatives. Your expertise in stakeholder engagement enables you to effectively connect and influence both internal and external stakeholders at senior levels. You possess exceptional communication skills and a strategic outlook, allowing you to make informed decisions, enhance performance, and continuously refine processes. Your ability to foresee and resolve complex challenges, combined with your commercial insight, contributes to the overall success of the property supply chain and project delivery.

At Sainsbury's, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone is welcomed, regardless of their background. Here, you will have opportunities to explore new roles, whether within a developing team or across different areas of the business. We take professional development seriously and promise to support your growth. We also recognize and celebrate team members who go above and beyond, and where feasible, we offer flexible working arrangements. Upon joining our team, you will enjoy a remarkable array of benefits, including:

- A colleague discount allowing you to save on your shopping at Sainsbury's, Argos, TU, and Habitat, with periodic increases to 15%.
- A comprehensive pensions scheme and life cover for your future security.
- Eligibility for a performance-related bonus of up to 20% of your salary, contingent on our collective performance.

Additional benefits include season ticket loans, interest-free car loans, a cycle-to-work scheme, health cash plans, and salary advances. We also provide access to a wide range of discounts from numerous retailers. Should you need support, our Employee Assistance Programme is available.
