Job Summary: Excel Sports Management is seeking a highly motivated and focused sponsorship sales professional to join the growing Properties division. Based in our London office, you will be responsible for the sale of marquee partnership assets, including but not limited to, venue naming rights, jersey sponsorships, league-wide category sponsorships, as well as other sponsorship-related consulting services for domestic and global sports and entertainment properties.

  • Identify and prospect qualified companies to approach regarding marquee partnership assets Excel has been retained to sell on behalf of its clients (professional sports teams, leagues, venues, etc.);
  • Construct and maintain a brand prospect pipeline across multiple categories and territories for potential opportunities across client roster;
  • Secure meetings with decision-makers at prospective companies, building trust, empathy, and demonstrating a deep understanding of best-in-class brand and sports marketing practices;
  • Deploy a consultative, idea-first sales approach to help brands identify optimal partnerships to pursue with Excel clients;
  • Present, negotiate, and close deals for clients of Excel's Properties division;
  • Pivot conversations to additional Excel sales verticals, including talent marketing, brand marketing, executive search engagements, and owned and operated events;
  • Leverage Excel Sports & clients hosting assets to develop new relationships and further exciting relationships;

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of direct, relevant work experience at team, league, and/or sales agency;

Skills and Abilities:

  • Established network inclusive of senior brand, agency, and/or property decision-makers;
  • Natural and confident salesperson with a proven ability to generate creative ideas;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and brand conversations while being responsive to the needs of the division and peers;

This position is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus.
