Job Summary

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced consultant geriatrician to join our dynamic team in the Department of Health Services for Elderly People (HSEP) at our Hampstead site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality care for older patients as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Develop and deliver a consultant-led liaison service to frail and complex patients on the medical admission units
  • Undertake ward rounds, conduct board rounds, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings
  • Ensure timely discharge planning for older patients and support the training of junior doctors
  • Carry out teaching, examination, and accreditation duties
  • Contribute to undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education activities
  • Provide equitable leave cover for HSEP consultant colleagues and participate in clinical audit and continuing medical education

Requirements

  • Be on the GMC Specialist Register for Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine or be within 6 months of obtaining a Certificate of Completion of Training or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
