We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acute Medicine Consultant to join our dynamic team at King's College Hospital. As a key member of our Acute Medicine service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our service.
Key Responsibilities- Provide consultant-led care for patients on Acute Medical Wards and in the Medical Ambulatory Unit.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of our Acute Medicine service, including the expansion of ambulatory assessment and management of patients.
- Participate in the on-call medical take rota and provide 24-hour, 7-day-a-week cover for Acute Medicine.
- Provide clinical supervision of junior medical staff and contribute to the teaching and training of junior staff.
- Take an active role in the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of our department's business plan.
- Full Registration with the GMC.
- Applicants must be within 6 months of CCT or must have fully completed CESR application and be fully registered on the GMC general medicine/acute medicine Specialist Register.
- Acute Medical experience and experience in day-to-day organisation of General Medicine on wards services in a busy Teaching Hospital.
- Familiarity with current structure of UK National Health Service and conversant with recent initiatives and changes.
- Able to demonstrate leadership capability within multi-disciplinary teams.
