Oxitec is seeking a highly accomplished and driven Strategic Business Development Leader to spearhead our growth in the agricultural sector. This role will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of sustainable agriculture by driving innovation, forging strategic partnerships, and expanding market reach for Oxitec's groundbreaking solutions.

As a key member of our executive team, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive business strategies that align with Oxitec's mission to provide environmentally friendly pest control solutions. Your expertise in new product development, early-stage commercial planning, and partnership building will be instrumental in bringing cutting-edge technologies to market.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic business plans for Oxitec's agricultural products and services, focusing on new market entry and expansion.
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with key players in the agricultural industry, including technology providers, distributors, and research institutions.
  • Spearhead the launch of innovative agricultural products and technologies, encompassing all aspects from market analysis and product development to commercialization and sales.
  • Manage a high-performing team of business development professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape, identifying opportunities for growth and differentiation.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of proven success in senior leadership roles within the agricultural industry, with a demonstrated track record of driving business growth and innovation.
  • Extensive experience in start-ups, early-stage technology companies, or with emerging technologies in agriculture.
  • Exceptional ability to forge strategic partnerships and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of the agricultural market landscape, including diverse farming practices, regulatory frameworks, and consumer trends.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and persuade at all levels.
