Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Community Pain Management Service as a Therapy Assistant. The successful candidate will work closely with the qualified therapists to provide high-quality care to patients with complex pain needs.

Main Duties
  • Assist qualified therapists in the management of patients with complex pain needs.
  • Conduct holistic assessments and develop rehabilitation programmes for community-based patients.
  • Work independently to complete specified tasks and interventions, seeking guidance from qualified clinicians as needed.
  • Hold a caseload of patients and report back to qualified clinicians at agreed timescales.
  • Modify interventions and programmes within defined parameters and within scope of practice.
  • Complete initial assessments and commission basic equipment and adaptations as appropriate.
  • Order and stock control of materials and equipment.
  • Instruct individuals, carers, and other professionals in the safe use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Refer patients to appropriate services and healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Discharge patients within workload after consultation with qualified clinicians.
  • Attend multidisciplinary meetings and participate in clinical decision-making.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date clinical records are kept.
Requirements
  • Any degree qualification.
  • Patient-facing band 3 role experience.
  • Transferable skills and band 3 therapy assistant experience (desirable).
  • Knowledge of conditions and community working processes (desirable).
