Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Therapy Assistant to join our Community Pain Management Service at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting patients with complex pain conditions, working closely with our qualified therapists to deliver high-quality care.

Main Duties

  • Assist qualified therapists in the management of patients with complex pain conditions, providing holistic assessments and interventions as needed.
  • Work independently to complete specified assessments, interventions, and rehabilitation programmes for community-based patients.
  • Follow departmental protocols and guidelines, seeking guidance from qualified clinicians as necessary.
  • Hold a caseload of patients, reporting back to qualified clinicians at agreed timescales and highlighting any necessary actions.
  • Work with patients in various settings, including their homes and 24-hour care facilities, ensuring patient safety and dignity at all times.
  • Modify interventions and programmes within defined parameters and within your scope of practice.
  • Complete initial assessments and commission basic equipment and adaptations as appropriate, reviewing risk assessments on a timely basis.
  • Order and stock control of materials and equipment as required for the unit.
  • Instruct individuals, carers, and other professionals in the safe use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Refer patients to appropriate services and healthcare professionals where necessary.
  • Discharge patients within your workload after consultation with qualified staff.
  • Attend multidisciplinary meetings and participate in clinical decision-making processes for individual patients.
  • Ensure accurate, up-to-date clinical records are kept, maintaining security and confidentiality.
