This role involves working 42 hours per week, including a mix of day, night, and weekend shifts. The position is based at Cygnet Hospital Wolverhampton, a cutting-edge facility designed for acute care and psychiatric intensive care.

Role Expectations
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) who is passionate about providing exceptional care to join our new facility.
The hospital will feature two specialized wards: a 12-bed psychiatric intensive care unit and a 17-bed acute care unit. Our multidisciplinary team will address the urgent needs of adults requiring immediate access to mental health services, including those who may benefit from an intensive care setting.
Our focus is on minimizing the length of stay and ensuring that individuals transition safely and efficiently to the most suitable and least restrictive environment for their needs.
Candidate Profile
As a qualified NMC Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a current PIN and a minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare environment, you will possess:
- A valid UK RGN registration with at least two years of relevant experience
- Strong documentation skills, with the ability to conduct audits and demonstrate integrity
- A solid understanding of contemporary nursing practices
- A commitment to patient recovery, effectively managing and mitigating risks
- Compassion, resilience, and a dedication to empowering service users towards independence
- Proven experience working autonomously as well as collaboratively within a full multidisciplinary team.

Daily Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patient health issues, including chronic conditions and minor injuries
- Perform ECGs and metabolic syndrome assessments
- Coordinate with general practitioners for routine health reviews
- Collaborate with various health professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Support mental health nursing staff in managing patient care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Engage with multidisciplinary team members to evaluate and enhance patient care
- Promote physical health and well-being among service users
- Provide training for staff on vital sign monitoring and other clinical procedures
- Conduct health clinic sessions for service users
