About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Peripatetic Ward Manager to join our team at Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing operational leadership to our ward teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and management to ward teams in the absence of the substantive ward manager.
  • Ensure the day-to-day operational line management of the team, leading and ensuring a 24-hour, 7-day service is provided.
  • Facilitate the discharge of patients to and from the community hospital, following Hospital Discharge Guidance and Home First ethos.
  • Work with healthcare professionals and statutory/non-statutory agencies to provide a seamless, integrated service to patients.
  • Provide senior leadership during the week, with the expectation to cover service gaps as required.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with a recognized management qualification or evidence of working at that level.
  • First-level degree, diploma, or equivalent post-registration experience.
  • Current registration to a professional body.
  • Experience of leading a team, working in a multi-agency environment, managing budgets, and performance management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and coaching/mentoring skills.
