We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Peripatetic Ward Manager to join our team at Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing operational leadership to our ward teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide operational leadership to ward teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
- Travel to and manage wards in the absence of the substantive ward manager, leading and ensuring a 24-hour, 7-day service is provided.
- Facilitate the discharge of patients to and from the community hospital, following Hospital Discharge Guidance and Home First ethos.
- Work with healthcare professionals and statutory/non-statutory agencies to provide a seamless, integrated service to patients.
- Provide senior leadership during the week, with the expectation to cover service gaps as required.
- Experience of leading a team and managing budgets.
- Experience of working in a multi-agency environment and managing complex situations.
- Registered Nurse with a recognized management qualification or evidence of working at that level.
- First-level degree, diploma, or equivalent post-registration experience.
- Current registration to a professional body.
- Masters-level degree.
- Project management experience.
- Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team.
- Knowledge of additional specialist areas through in-house training and/or short courses.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships.
- Emotional intelligence, with ability to reflect on own behaviors and the impact on self and others.
- Coaching/mentoring skills.
- Adaptable, positively working with change and enabling colleagues to deliver change.
- Proactive and able to use own initiative.
- Expert communication skills, including the ability to address communication barriers.
- Evidence of motivational skills.
- Evidence of tact and diplomacy.
- Empathy and sensitivity.
- Ability to travel.
- Be able to kneel, bend, stoop, and work in cramped environments.
- Be able to manoeuvre limbs (of approx 5-6kgs).
- Moving and handling experience, using handling aids.
- Basic IT/standard keyboard skills.
