Peripatetic Ward Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Peripatetic Ward Manager to join our team at Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust. This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires strong operational leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build strong relationships with team members.
Main DutiesIn the absence of the substantive ward manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operational line management of the team, leading and ensuring a 24-hour, 7-day service is provided. This will involve facilitating the discharge of patients to and from the community hospital, working with all healthcare professionals and statutory/non-statutory agencies to provide a seamless, integrated service to patients, and providing senior leadership during the week with the expectation to cover service gaps as required.
About the RoleThis is a key leadership position that requires the ability to work flexibly, prioritize workload, and manage stressful situations. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of successful service and policy development and implementation, as well as experience of managing budgets and leading a team. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships and inspire team working.
Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have a recognized management qualification or evidence of working at that level, as well as a first-level degree, diploma, or equivalent post-registration experience. They will also have current registration to a professional body and a strong understanding of current issues within clinical practice and service development. In addition, they will have experience of managing budgets, leading a team, and working in a multi-agency environment.
