About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Peripatetic Ward Manager to join our team at Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust. As an Operational Leader for General Rehabilitation Wards, you will play a key role in providing leadership and management to our ward teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational leadership to the ward teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
  • Travel to and manage the general rehabilitation wards, leading and ensuring a 24-hour, 7-day service is provided.
  • Facilitate the discharge of patients to and from the community hospital, following Hospital Discharge Guidance and Home First ethos.
  • Work with healthcare professionals and statutory/non-statutory agencies to provide a seamless, integrated service to patients.
  • Provide senior leadership during the week, with the expectation to cover service gaps as required.
Requirements
  • Experience of leading a team and managing budgets.
  • Experience of working in a multi-agency environment and managing complex situations.
  • Registered Nurse with a recognized management qualification or evidence of working at that level.
  • First-level degree, diploma, or equivalent post-registration experience.
  • Current registration to a professional body.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • Masters-level degree.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of additional specialist areas through in-house training and/or short courses.

Other Requirements
  • Ability to travel.
  • Be able to kneel, bend, stoop, and work in cramped environments.
  • Be able to manoeuvre limbs (of approx 5-6kgs).
  • Moving and handling experience, using handling aids.
  • Basic IT/standard keyboard skills.
