Job Description

Job Title: Commercial Construction Estimator

Company: Esh Group

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our commercial management team, you will be responsible for the commercial management of contracts specific to the construction sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Commercial Management: Manage the commercial aspects of construction contracts, including procurement, contract administration, and payment management.
  2. Contract Administration: Administer sub-contracts, ensuring timely and accurate assessment and payment of sub-contractors' applications.
  3. Quantity Measurement: Measure quantities on site and from drawings, as required.
  4. Variation Management: Evaluate and manage variations, provisional sum expenditure, and monitoring of the same.
  5. Civils Management: Manage weekly direct labour and plant subcontractor payments, if required.
  6. Reporting: Produce accurate internal valuations, sub-contract liabilities, and cost value reconciliations in line with the commercial reporting timetable.
  7. Record Keeping: Maintain good quality and accurate records.
  8. Delay Identification: Identify and notify delays in tandem with the project team.
  9. Change Management: Effectively manage and minimize non-recoverable costs on projects.
  10. Variation Pricing: Price and agree all project variations effectively.

Key Measurements:

  1. Deadlines: Achieve internal and external deadlines.
  2. Reports: Produce accurate internal and external reports.
  3. Commercial Performance: Implement best commercial practice to maximize commercial performance.

Requirements:

  1. Qualifications: Relevant HND, Degree in Quantity Surveying, Built environment or equivalent, desirable.
  2. Experience: Minimum of three years' experience working on projects within the construction sector.
  3. Contract Knowledge: Working knowledge of contract conditions such as NEC, JCT.
  4. Software Skills: Proficient in the use of MS Office.
  5. CSCS Card: Appropriate CSCS card, desirable.
  6. Driving Licence: Valid driving licence.
