Overview

The role is pivotal in shaping and advancing statistical methodologies at an expert level, actively engaging in collaborative efforts and strategic decision-making across various programs and therapeutic areas within clinical development and medical affairs. This position is accountable for orchestrating contributions from diverse quantitative specialists, influencing clinical development processes and interactions with health authorities. The individual will represent the Biostatistics function in both internal and external decision-making forums, mentor emerging statisticians, and deliver strategic, technical, operational, and scientific guidance to the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Head of Clinical Data Science to establish standards and automation strategies throughout the organization.
  • Oversee global teams tasked with implementing data standards and automation goals.
  • Ensure the deployment of high-quality, scalable, and regulatory-compliant data standards and technologies in partnership with industry peers and internal stakeholders, maintaining a strong customer focus.
  • Develop and manage KPIs, frameworks, policies, and processes for the development and maintenance of data standards.
  • Ensure the organization achieves a return on investment across the standards and automation landscape.
Role Description

The Development Team is driven by a mission to innovate medicine for better health outcomes.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Leading statistical strategy and innovation efforts while participating in cross-functional collaborations for clinical development programs.
  • Integrating insights from various quantitative scientists throughout the product development lifecycle, impacting strategic decisions and health authority interactions.
  • Serving as a key representative of the Biostatistics function in decision-making bodies and mentoring junior statisticians.
  • Potentially acting as the Global Program Biostatistics Head for complex projects or as Lead Statistician for multiple clinical initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Statistics or a related field with extensive experience in the industry.
  • Proficiency in English with strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas to varied audiences.
  • Proven ability to influence critical decisions impacting project outcomes and departmental objectives.
  • Expertise in applying statistical methods and innovative approaches in drug development.
  • Comprehensive understanding of drug development processes and health authority guidelines.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the capacity to mentor and oversee a team of associates.
