Director of Biostatistics

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as Director of Biostatistics at Novartis Farmacéutica. As a key member of our Development Team, you will be responsible for influencing and driving statistical strategy and innovation, directly contributing to cross-functional collaboration and decision-making for programs across various therapeutic areas.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Provide expert-level contribution to strategy development, including design, analysis, synthesis, interpretation, and reporting, as well as health authority response and negotiation.
- Statistical Input and Influence: Accountable for strategic statistical input and influence into one or more drug development projects, including development plans, dose-finding strategies, regulatory strategies, publication strategies, and pricing and reimbursement strategies.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Lead collaborations with strategic functions within global program teams to drive quantitative decision-making in drug development and enable successful impact on robust drug development plans.
- Project Management: Plan, prioritize, and oversee project-level activities, ensuring efficient resource management within the development unit and effective partnership with external vendors.
- Representation and Communication: Represent Biostatistics and Pharmacometrics at internal and external decision boards, significantly contributing to project team preparation and playing a prominent role in representing Biostatistics at HA Advisory Committees and meetings.
- Education and Experience: MS Statistics or equivalent with 12+ years' work experience or PhD (in Statistics or equivalent) with 8 years+ work experience.
- Language and Communication: Fluent in English with strong communication and presentation skills, able to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Influences decisions that directly impact the project and department's ability to deliver objectives, with advanced knowledge and expertise in applying statistics and innovative approaches.
- Expertise and Knowledge: Record of successful implementation of novel methods and/or innovative strategies in drug development, with extensive knowledge of drug development and HA guidelines, and strong understanding of at least one disease/therapeutic area.
- Leadership and Mentoring: Proven leadership ability with excellent collaboration skills and ability to mentor and provide oversight for up to 10 associates.
