Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Residential Childcare Deputy Manager to join our team at Area Camden. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of our services, ensuring the highest standards of care and support are delivered to our young people.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the Registered Manager: Assist the Registered Manager in the overall management of the service, including supervising staff, monitoring care delivery, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and Develop Staff: Supervise and develop the skills of our staff, ensuring they have the necessary training and support to deliver high-quality care and support.
- Ensure Quality of Care: Work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the quality of care and support delivered to our young people meets the highest standards.
- Manage Risk and Compliance: Identify and manage risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including Ofsted, COSHH, Health and Safety, and the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
- Develop and Implement Care Plans: Work with the Registered Manager to develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of our young people.
- Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with young people, staff, and external agencies, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and involved in the care and support of our young people.
- Manage Resources: Manage resources effectively, including staff rotas, budgets, and supplies, to ensure the smooth running of our services.
Requirements:
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in residential childcare, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality care and support.
- Qualifications: Hold a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
- Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and staff supervision skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with young people, staff, and external agencies.
- Management Skills: Ability to manage resources effectively, including staff rotas, budgets, and supplies.
