About the Role

Westlakes Recruit is seeking a highly skilled Safety Engineer with a background in Nuclear to join our team on a permanent basis in the Bristol area. We prioritize work-life balance and flexibility, offering hybrid, part-time, and flexible working hours, patterns, and locations to suit your needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and update Hazard Verification Studies using relevant technical methodologies, focusing on Internal and External Hazards for buildings.
  • Identify equipment under threat and assess the impact on the equipment.
  • Produce studies on functional redundancies and their implications.
  • Manage technical topics related to protection requirements for hazards within the building and system design.
  • Collaborate with the matrix organization during the design and construction phase, providing technical expertise on safety functional requirements.
  • Participate in Edvance-wide discipline meetings to discuss hazards.
Requirements
  • Hold an engineering degree or equivalent, preferably specializing in safety.
  • Have knowledge of safety requirement implementation and hazard studies, preferably from a highly regulated industry.
  • Be familiar with Nuclear Safety Assessment Principles and their application.
  • Have experience in systems, layout engineering, and pipework.
  • Be proficient in PDMS and Navisworks software.
