The Role
As a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and integrity of submarine and surface ship components. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Performing origination and checking of structural analysis calculations, finite element analysis (FEA), and reports in relation to the qualification of submarine and surface ship component resistance to shock, vibration, fatigue, and pressure loading in accordance with relevant design codes and customer-agreed analysis methodologies.
- Working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement structural analysis solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements.
- Collaborating with senior engineers and technical leads to develop and maintain technical standards and guidelines for structural analysis.
- Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians to ensure the successful completion of structural analysis projects.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Structural Analysis Engineer with a strong background in structural analysis and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in origination and checking of structural analysis hand calculations, and familiarity with design codes.
- Experience in origination and checking of structural finite element modelling and analysis, and proficiency in the use of FEA software (ideally Ansys and/or LS-Dyna) to include static, non-linear (contact) and elastic analysis, and ideally also dynamic and/or elasto-plastic analysis.
- Experience with the following software would also be desirable:
