About The Role

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

Oversee the remarketing and sale of all assets at the conclusion of their contracts or operational life. Your focus will be on identifying optimal sales strategies for each vehicle to enhance profitability at the end of their lifecycle. In addition to vehicle sales, you will also lead efforts in negotiating contract extensions with clients and determining new residual values for the entire portfolio of vehicles.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the remarketing process, including logistics for vehicle collection and sales, ensuring the most effective sales methods are applied for each asset.
  • Develop and expand national remarketing channels, including establishing retail sales avenues to maximize profitability.
  • Create and maintain a centralized database of clients who purchase commercial and specialized vehicles.
  • Conduct thorough end-of-life assessments, including mileage evaluations, pricing, and obtaining customer consent for any repair or damage costs.
  • Capitalize on sales opportunities to maximize profits, including those from short-term rental stock vehicles.
  • Negotiate pricing effectively for all remarketed vehicles.
  • Monitor and report on sales proceeds in relation to market trends and business metrics.
  • Oversee all aspects of the sales process to ensure a seamless experience for used vehicle customers.
  • Provide monthly reports detailing sales activities, market valuations, and contract extension efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with the fleet operations team.
  • Determine residual value pricing for new business proposals.
  • Track the progress of residual values throughout the contract duration and across the vehicle portfolio.
  • Manage contract extensions by coordinating with clients and internal teams, formalizing pricing agreements, including setting extension residual values.
  • Conduct in-life fleet valuations to support credit assessments.
  • Perform any additional duties as required.

About You

Essential Qualifications:

  • A proactive, self-driven individual with strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in HGV sales.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial (heavy) and municipal vehicles.
  • Experience in establishing residual values using various publications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities utilizing available resources effectively.
  • High proficiency in computer skills.
  • Experience in building a retail used vehicle sales division.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Working Hours

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, including a 1-hour lunch break.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • HGV Class 2 certification.
  • Qualification from an HGV apprenticeship program.
