About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Fleet Operations to lead our fleet management activities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our fleet operations are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements, while also driving continuous improvement and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Management: Ensure that all fleet-related activities are in line with the company's operating licenses and regulatory requirements.
  • Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with regional directors and other stakeholders to enhance vehicle and equipment utilization, reduce costs, and improve asset availability.
  • Fleet Asset Management: Lead the fleet asset replacement program, including capital expenditure approval, funding, and vehicle specification design.
  • Accreditation and Training: Oversee the implementation of fleet accreditation activities, including driver training, audits, and driver engagement initiatives.
  • Supplier and Stakeholder Management: Act as the point of escalation for fleet supplier-related matters and support the management of fleet suppliers.
  • Fleet Improvement Initiatives: Drive group-wide fleet improvement programs, including decarbonization efforts, compliance with local air quality standards, and regulatory changes.
  • Crisis Management: Lead investigations into major asset failures and enforcement actions, sharing lessons learned with the wider business and fleet function.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of six regional transport managers, fostering a high-performing team environment focused on fleet management excellence.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a senior fleet management role, preferably within a multi-site operation.
  • Proven track record in fleet asset replacement, financial funding, and compliance management.
  • Vocational drivers license (C, C+E).
  • Experience with MHE fleet management and re-accreditation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage a variety of employee, management, and leadership roles.
