Overview of the Position

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

This role is accountable for the resale and marketing of all assets and vehicles at the conclusion of their operational lifecycle. The focus is on identifying optimal sales strategies for each vehicle to enhance profitability at the end of their service life. In addition to vehicle sales, this position will also oversee contract extensions with clients and the establishment of new residual values for the entire portfolio of vehicles.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the remarketing process, including logistics for vehicle collection and sales, ensuring the most effective sales strategy is applied for each asset.
  • Develop and expand national remarketing channels, including the creation of retail sales platforms to maximize revenue.
  • Create and maintain a centralized database of clients who purchase commercial and specialized vehicles.
  • Conduct thorough end-of-life assessments, including mileage evaluations, pricing strategies, and securing customer approval for any repair or damage costs.
  • Leverage sales opportunities to maximize profits from the short-term rental vehicle inventory.
  • Negotiate sales prices effectively for all remarketed vehicles.
  • Monitor and report on sales outcomes in relation to market trends and business performance indicators.
  • Oversee all aspects of the sales process for used vehicle customers.
  • Provide monthly updates on sales performance, market assessments, and contract extension activities.
  • Collaborate closely with the fleet operations team.
  • Set residual value pricing for new business proposals.
  • Track the progress of established residual values throughout the contract duration and across the vehicle portfolio.
  • Manage contract extensions by liaising with clients and internal teams, formalizing pricing agreements that include setting extension residual values.
  • Conduct in-life fleet valuations to assist in credit decision-making.
  • Perform any additional duties as required.

Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications:

  • A proactive, self-driven individual with exceptional organizational and time management capabilities.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in heavy goods vehicle sales.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial and municipal vehicle markets.
  • Experience in determining residual values using various publications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems utilizing available resources.
  • High proficiency in computer applications.
  • Experience in establishing a retail used vehicle sales division.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Working Schedule

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, including a one-hour lunch break.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HGV Class 2 license.
  • Qualification from an HGV apprenticeship program.
