This position involves on-site support for our initiatives, ensuring a strong presence in the field.

The main objective of this role is to deliver HR insights and act as a business leader, enhancing the performance of Power Leadership teams while executing the Power People Strategy and managing the employment and skills strategy within Power T&D.

Key Responsibilities

As an HR Business Partner, your responsibilities will include:

Assisting leaders in evaluating the current effectiveness of the organization and proposing robust strategies that instill confidence in achieving medium-term business goals. This evaluation should encompass structure, culture, personnel, skills, and processes in alignment with the business strategy, ensuring that key themes of collaboration and innovation are integrated. Utilizing change management expertise to guarantee that changes are planned and executed following best practices, adhering to legislation, realizing intended benefits, and minimizing unnecessary employee relations issues, costs, and disruptions to performance. Ensuring that capability development plans align with the business strategy by establishing career pathways and development solutions, leveraging existing materials while identifying additional tailored development opportunities. Formulating and executing a resource plan that maximizes expertise to effectively meet current and future workload demands, including forecasting needs for strategic hires, graduates, apprentices, and trainees. Supporting social value initiatives, including those aimed at ex-military personnel, ex-offenders, long-term unemployed individuals, and work experience programs. Driving the full spectrum of the talent agenda, including succession planning, to ensure that high-potential individuals are identified, have development plans in place, and are engaged in their career progression. Collaborating with the Project Director and leadership team to foster an inclusive, engaging, innovative, and high-performance culture, with a focus on team effectiveness sessions. Assisting leadership teams with employee engagement initiatives, including action planning, feedback mechanisms, and long-term engagement strategies that align with customer needs. Managing the relationship with HR teams within Balfour Beatty to ensure operational excellence, delivering maximum value to the business, and facilitating a seamless HR activity cycle for all individuals.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The following qualifications and experiences are essential:

Proven experience in building credible relationships with senior leadership teams, leading organizational and cultural change initiatives, and developing and implementing HR strategies within complex environments. Demonstrated experience in navigating complex, matrix organizations. Experience in leading Organizational Effectiveness programs and managing complex change. Proven track record in creating effective organizations, particularly at the leadership team level, ensuring that individual and team profiles align with organizational requirements. Experience in project managing HR initiatives, with a solid understanding of employee relations contexts such as reorganizations. Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders, including the capacity to constructively challenge senior positions. Highly developed commercial acumen, emotional intelligence, and the ability to coach and influence senior colleagues. Understanding of the broader employment, skills, and training landscape. Exceptional collaborative skills with the ability to manage numerous stakeholders effectively. Strong communication skills, demonstrating confidence and clarity.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a unionized environment. Familiarity with complex terms and conditions of employment. CIPD qualification.
