The successful candidate will work closely with the Outpatients Service Manager to drive the effective and efficient running of the department. They will act as the escalation point for on-the-day concerns and will have improving patient experience at the heart of their decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Line Management: Assist the Outpatients Service Manager with the management of teams within outpatients, including referrals in, reception, pathways, medical secretaries, and referrals out.
  2. Process Improvement: Streamline processes and develop relationships with third parties to improve service delivery.
  3. Service Development: Work with the Outpatients Service Manager to develop and implement service improvements and new initiatives.
  4. Standard Operating Procedures: Review and create Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency across the department.

The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize and organize their workload. They must be able to exercise initiative and independent judgment while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and diplomacy at all times.
