As a Student Retention Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting our students to succeed in their academic journey. Your primary responsibility will be to work with individual students who have been reported as dis-engaged, helping them to return to productive study. You will also ensure that all assigned students are contacted and that you gain an understanding of the barriers to study they are encountering.

In this role, you will work under the direction of the Head of Student Retention and in collaboration with the relevant academics to develop bespoke plans to ensure each student returns to study. You will also work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure students remain engaged with their studies.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be educated to degree level or equivalent, with knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice. You will also need to have previous experience of working with students in higher education, specifically with mature students.

Key responsibilities include:

* Working with individual students to help them return to productive study
* Ensuring all assigned students are contacted and that you gain an understanding of the barriers to study they are encountering
* Developing bespoke plans to ensure each student returns to study
* Working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure students remain engaged with their studies
* Maintaining accurate and timely records
