Salary: £54,793+ Depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in a relevant or related engineering field
  • A background in some or all of the following:

o Training Systems

o Training Needs Analysis

o Execution of Training for Technology and Media personnel

o Training Device or Solution development

  • Experience working in the early life cycle phase of a programme is preferable
  • Knowledge of design processes and life cycle
  • Experience of requirements management processes and toolsets
  • The use and authoring of technical documentation
  • Experience of working within a diverse and inclusive team with focus on leveraging technologies and concepts from a broad stakeholder group, both internal, external and non-traditional technology partners

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • HND Level 5 or Degree level qualification (or equivalent professional experience) in relevant STEM subject (Engineering/Maths/Science/IT)
  • Experience in developing complex, large-scale Information Systems (IS) architectures, preferably in a defence or aerospace environment
  • Experience of applying relevant skills across the Systems Engineering lifecycle e.g. Requirements Engineering, Solution Design, Integration, Verification & Validation, Test & Qualification

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) with experience in relevant tools, frameworks or languages – e.g. CAMEO, MooD, UML/SysML, MagicGrid, DOORS, NAF/MODAF/TOGAF
  • Experience in the development, implementation or operation of logistics information systems, engineering support systems, supply chain management systems, or maintenance management systems for aircraft or military products, including either bespoke or COTS applications (e.g. IFS Cloud, Maintenix, Syncron)
  • Experience with any of the following – UK MOD Knowledge in Defence (KiD), Support Solution Envelope 21 (SSE21), Integrated Logistics Support (Def-Stan 00-600), ASD/AIA S-Series Integrated Product Support (IPS) specifications

The FCAS AP Through Life Support Team:

Join a once-in-a-generation programme as the Mission Personnel Training Lead for the FCAS (Future Combat Air System) AP Through life support team. In this pivotal role, you’ll be part of a dynamic Training team responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge Ground Personnel Training solutions. You’ll work closely with the Concept and Service Design Lead to ensure that our training devices and technology solutions are fully aligned and integrated, leveraging the broader capabilities of the Air sector.

Reporting to the Through Life Support Training Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering training solutions for the UK FCAS programme, addressing both UK-specific needs and contributing to the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP). You’ll collaborate as part of a tri-lateral international team, working alongside partners from the UK, Japan, and Italy in a highly innovative and evolving environment.
