**Job description**:
Now is an exciting time to join DIO commercial as we continue to grow and undertake new projects and programmes.
Would you like to join our Accommodation team within Contract Management where you will be able to make a positive impact on the daily lives of the UK’s service personnel. This is a role where what you do will directly influence the conditions in which our service personnel live, work, train and deploy every day.
You will have the opportunity to work alongside a team leading a complex combination within the Accommodation services that are delivered under some of the UK’s largest Facilities Management contracts by market leading contractors. These requirements are led by operational demand and as you would expect our services constantly change and evolve giving you the opportunity to demonstrate a proactive and effective approach to delivering change. You will play a key role in ensuring that DIO’s contracts are collaboratively led with internal and external collaborators.
**Locations**
Our Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) Commercial Teams are based across the UK including Andover, Glasgow, and Whittington.
If found successful, you will be offered one or more of the above locations as your base office. You will be required to work from this specific office on a hybrid basis (i.e.,40%/60% of your time office based), therefore you must consider if any of the above locations are within a reasonable travelling distance before applying.
You will be asked to confirm your preferred base location/s at interview stage. Alongside the advertised locations, other DIO locations may be offered

**Person specification**:
- Working in a team of Commercial staff handling some of the UK’s largest and most complex service contracts within the Accommodation team
- Be part of the Commercial management team assessing risks, planning prioritising, and delivering the effective management of Accommodation services at multiple Defence sites across the UK
- Developing your own contract and commercial management skills to bring innovative solutions to challenges that arise in delivering Accommodation to service personnel in a constantly evolving environment
- Working in a cross functional team, providing commercial advice to ensure that the Accommodation delivered remain effective, relevant, and competitively priced
- Using your expertise of contract management to provide specialist input to the programme procuring MOD’s next generation of Accommodation contracts
- Where necessary hold DIO’s contractors to account working collaboratively and effectively with partners across Defence and in industry.
Essential Criteria:
- CIPS level 4 or willing to study to achieve this level within 2 years of joining
- Ability to undertake travel to overseas and UK establishments on occasion
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly synthesize, distil and draw conclusions on large amounts of disparate data
- Experience of negotiations
Please be aware that as part of this role you must achieve a CIPS Level 4 and sit a MOD accreditation panel to have a letter of delegation (authority to place and amend contract on behalf of Defence).
