The Children and Young People Engagement Lead develops and delivers the Trust’s Children and Young People Ambition, working with colleagues across the organisation to ensure our approach is connected and cohesive.

You’ll lead best practice working with children and young people and partners and identify how we involve young people in decision making within the Trust. The role influences change across the organisation, creating regional and local opportunities to engage with children and young people and contributing to the Everyone Welcome plan.

The role is offered as a fixed term contract or potential secondment opportunity until 28th February 2025.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore flexible and hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust.

What you'll be doing:You’ll champion engaging with children and young people across the organisation, playing a lead role in the development of good practice.

You’ll lead the Children & Young People team, supporting the team to provide advice, guidance, direction and inspiration to our children and young people hubs, managing our partnership with Starling Bank, developing career engagement opportunities for young people and engaging with young staff and volunteers.

You’ll lead on implementation of our Children & Young People Ambition and provide expert guidance to the organisation on evaluating and building this ambition for our next strategy period.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

- Thorough and up to date knowledge and experience of working with children and young people, with the ability to translate theoretical knowledge and practical experience into organisational practice
- Experience of championing youth-led activity and enabling youth voice to influence at all levels of an organisation.
- Experience of leading a children and young people agenda at a strategic level, bringing insight and vision to create organisational strategy
- Skills in building relationships and engaging with and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
- Experience of managing projects and balancing quality, cost and time restrictions
- Communication skills and listening skills, with the ability to interpret information to meet a wide range of needs
