Safeguarding Partnership Lead for Children

Partners in Swindon work within adults and children’s safeguarding arrangements. The Safeguarding Partnership is designed to offer us the chance to work more effectively and with a joint purpose to protect children their families and adults with care and support needs who most need our help and to help people to themselves. We will achieve this by working together to improve the lives of our residents addressing safeguarding priorities. The Safeguarding Partnership is looking for a dynamic, organised and clear-thinking professional to lead on the strategic development and delivery of partnership priorities relating to the children’s safeguarding agenda. This is a non-operational role.

**Your next role**
As Safeguarding Partnership Lead for Children, you will:
- Support the Swindon Safeguarding Partnership with effective performance and quality assurance systems, which leads to good quality and safe services for children and adults with care and support needs in Swindon.
- Support Partner engagement and involvement by building effective relationships with partner agencies.
- Ensure that there is a coordination of engagement with adults with care and support needs, carers, children and young people to help support and deliver the safeguarding agenda.
- Support the Safeguarding Partnerships learning, development and multi-agency training programme so that there is a skilled and competent children’s and adults workforce to support the safeguarding agenda.
**About you**
The skills, knowledge and expertise we are looking for include:
- Experience of working in Childrens Services, or another relevant professional environment.
- Good understanding of quantitative and qualitative data analysis
- A good understanding of the journey of children through professional systems.
- Experience/knowledge of partnership working.
- Good knowledge of Children’s legislation, regulations, guidance and best practice
- Specific knowledge of statutory guidance of multi-agency safeguarding legislation for children
- Good ICT skills.
- Experience of participating in audit activity within a professional environment.
- Knowledge and experience of the Inspection and Regulatory Framework for Childrens Services
- Able to communicate effectively and present information clearly to a range of audiences
- Able to write clear and timely reports.
- Ability to provide constructive challenge to partner agencies to achieve best outcomes
- Evidence of commitment to listening to the views of others, including children, young people and their families
- You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”)._
