The Wolverhampton Students' Union is a not for profit charitable organisation affiliated with the University of Wolverhampton.We currently represent approximately 22,000 students from varied and diverse backgrounds.We are a small organisation with 20Core staff and 45 student-staff based mainly at the City Centre Site in Wolverhampton.

**About the role**

This role provides a great opportunity for you to build on your generalist HR experience.Reporting to the CEO the key responsibilities include
- Managing all aspects of HR (employee relations, HR administration, learning and development, recruitment, employee engagement, performance management, policies and maintaining and improving HR systems).
- Building effective relationships with managers and supporting them to improve staff engagement, performance and development.
- Making a significant contribution to the development of the HR strategy and ensuring the achievement of strategic objectives.
- Managing the implementation of all employment policies.
- Ensuring compliance with employment law and H&S law and knowing when to escalate matters.
- Managing and embedding the equality, diversity and inclusion values and practices across the SU.
- Managing the HR budget
- Organising staff events and activities

**This is an on-site role**where you will be expected to work as part of a community of staff supporting the work that the we do for the students we represent.

**About you**

We are looking to appoint someone who
- Is educated to degree level and is CIPD qualified (min level 5)
- Has a good working knowledge of employment law and Regulations including Equality Act, GDPR and health and safety plus accepted best professional practice.
- Broad knowledge andexperience ofrecruitment and selection, employee relations, performance management, HR administration, learning and development, pay and rewardand well-being.
- Ability to produce HR reports and provide insight and analysis
- Excellent organisational and communication skills,
- Ability to deal with confidential matters with tact, diplomacy and sensitivity
- Skilled analytical thinker who can provide 'best fit' solutions to people issues.
