**Description of Team / Department**

The Hanson UK Shared Service Centre (SSC) works alongside the business providing administrative support functions and customer excellence.

The Employee Services (ES) Department acts as a single point of contact for HR and Payroll transactions and queries. Providing robust auditable working practices and delivering maximum service delivery and accuracy to customers throughout the UK business.

Employee Services - Payroll Within ES, the Payroll team are responsible for:
Providing an accurate Payroll Service for Hanson UK Employees, and External Customers that conforms to current Government Legislation.

Ensuring that the Companies liabilities in respect of Inland Revenue (HMRC) returns are completed and produced in the required formats and in accordance with the specified deadlines.

Posting of Payroll journals to the General Ledgers and reconciling specific Payroll Control Accounts for each Accounting period.

Ensuring all third-Party Payments are paid accurately whilst adhering to deadlines.

**Purpose of / Responsibilities of the role**

Payroll processing weekly and monthly payrolls, query responses, dealing with employees, managers and external stakeholders.

Providing excellent customer service, guidance and support to internal and external customers.

Processing all transactional activities through the relevant workflow tool.

Ensuring compliance with appropriate processes and controls - driving efficiency and corrective action as required.

Taking ownership for and handling non-standard requests or issues escalate if appropriate.

Accurately working within agreed SLAs on a right first-time basis.

To work with high levels of integrity and confidentiality.

Ensuring appropriate records are kept and enabling accurate reporting.

Embrace and promote department and wider SSC initiatives and personal development.

Working as part of a team to work towards targets.

Supporting the team lead in driving departmental change and innovation.

**Skills / Experience**

Large volume Payroll Processing

Up to date knowledge of Payroll and employment tax legislation.

Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks.

SAP experience desirable but not essential.

**This job is hybrid working of working from home 3 days / in the office 2 days.**
