**The Company**:
Our client provide pension administration on behalf of their clients. They have over 800 staff across 5 offices and are based in the UK and globally. Due to their success and growth they are looking to recruit in their office which is based in central Bristol.

**The Job**:
On behalf of our client we are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join their team in central Bristol. This is working full time but consideration for someone wanting around 4 days also. This is a Payroll Administrator role working for a pensions administration company and your role will be proceeding pension payrolls daily.

In this vacancy your role will be to process pensioner payrolls for occupational pension schemes. Responsible for the day to day payroll processing for a portfolio of occupational pension schemes including the checking of work plus responsibility for up to 2 staff. Deputise for Payroll Team Leader when required.

Responsibilities will include:

- Ability to supervise, control and coordinate tasks/projects allocated by the team leader
- Assist with providing training/mentoring for new payroll administrators.
- Assist with reviewing and updating process maps and procedures.
- To reconcile the pension payrolls ensuring all payrolls processed are accurate and on time including monthly PAYE submissions to HMRC.
- Manually calculate any advance payments outside of the payroll.
- Dealing with payroll deductions and reporting to third parties including court orders, attachment of earnings, priority orders, healthcare and GAYE subscriptions.
- Processing lump sum payments including trivial commutations, small lump sums and UFPLS.
- Dealing with all bacs recalls, returned payments, recalculations of pensioners pay and year to date adjustments.
- Process bacs rejects including liaison with Treasury and Admin teams.
- Processing overseas payments and liaising with third party providers.
- Processing Tax Year End in accordance with HMRC deadlines.
- Liaise with HMRC and other third parties to resolve any tax related queries.
- Managing the queries mailbox and ensure all queries are dealt with in a timely fashion.
- Liaise with Admin teams, Consultants and third parties as necessary to support the above.
- Comply with Corporate Policies and Procedures on reconciliations, authorisations and evidencing.

**The Person**:
For this role our client is seeking an experienced payroll administrator who has experience of dealing with high volume payroll.
- Logical approach to problem solving.
- Process, collect and input data and information.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload with conflicting importance, keeping to deadlines, agreed service levels and disclosure requirements.
- Attention to detail
- Strong numeracy skills.
- Knowledge to perform and check manual tax calculations.
- Ability to break down and explain complex calculations in simple terms.
- Strong literacy skills.
- Excellent team player
- Strong working knowledge of Payroll systems.
- Act as mentor to payroll administrators.

**The Salary**:
Up to £37,000 depending on experience

Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm (they will consider 4 days per week)
